Jon Carter, an award winning photographer, was born and raised in the Dayton, Ohio area. Except for three years in Florida , he has lived here all of his life. (so far)
Jon’s love of photography started in 1974 with a little 110 camera. He soon moved up to 35 mm and 2¼ cameras with some film and video movies thrown in for good measure. He has now gone digital, using Nikon and Canon cameras.
He is a member of the IFPO (International Freelance Photographers Organization) Hall of Fame, the Fairborn Art Association, the Toledo Harbor Lighthouse Preservation Society, the Focus Camera Club, and the Tripod Camera Club. Since joining the Tripod and Focus Camera Club in January 2010, his photographs has won numerous awards in competitions. His photographs hang in several prominent locations across the United States, such as the City Hall Building in Sevierville, Tennessee.
Since retiring from General Motors, he travels photographing anything of interest. Jon’s subjects range from mountains to oceans, fall leaves to waterfalls, plants and animals, cars, boats, planes & trains, lighthouses and old buildings, weddings, models, boudoir, events and people, etc.
